The Guide To Cutting Your Expenses and Saving More Money For Travel

To start things off, we have decided to give you a challenge in the form of a fun, little exercise, but only if you are willing to participate, of course. So, are you in or not? You are? Well, that’s great – here’s what we want you to do! Look around your home and see if you can find a piece of paper. Once you have done this, put that piece of paper in front of you and write down all of your expenses that you can possibly think of. This includes – but is not limited to – your mortgage, phone bill, health insurance, school payments, cable television bill, and pretty much anything else that you spend a significant amount of money each and every single month – not because you want to, but because you have to. Once you’ve got all of this figured out, the next thing that we want you to do is find another piece of paper, put it in front of you and write down every single one of your luxury expenses that you can possibly think of. And just so there is no confusion, when we say luxury expenses, we mean things like food, drinks, movie nights, shopping, or pretty much anything else that falls into this category. Also, don’t forget about that coffee that you drink almost every night with your friend, okay?

If you are not able to do the math right now for any reason, we want you to track all of your expenses for the next two weeks and then calculate and write down the final amount of money that you have spent on all of those things. Spoiler alert! The result is probably going to be a large sum of money. With that said, if you are looking for a way to cut down your expenses and save more money for travel, you came to the right place. Here are three simple things that you can do right now to save more money!

Get Yourself a New Credit Card

Did you know that a good travel-related credit card can give you free hotel rooms and free flights? That’s right! That being said, what you need to do is get yourself a new, travel-related credit card and start collecting points as soon as possible.

Stop Drinking Coffee Every Single Day

Do you really have to drink coffee with your friend every single day? Don’t get us wrong, it is completely okay to do that. However, you don’t have to do it at an expensive place every single time, do you? Sometimes, it is completely okay to drink coffee at home.

Stop Spending Money On Things That You Don’t Even Need

This one pretty much speaks for itself. You don’t have to buy a chocolate every single day. You should try to spend more money on things that you actually need than on those you don’t.
